Best Business Practices Explored in Presentation at UKZN
Mr Savendran Susai from the Academy of Applied Competence and Project Ubuntu founder was invited by Dr Vannie Naidoo on behalf of the Business School to present a guest lecture on branding in profit and non-profit organisations.
The presentation aimed to enhance the knowledge of Masters of Business Administration students on branding concepts, brand identity and branding strategies which are fundamental to the success of a business.
Susai spoke on how the Academy has built its brand as a reputable national and international education institution.
‘From a branding point of view, before we can sell a product we have to become the product ourselves. The success of a product depends on the target market being able to distinguish the product from its competitor that is why brand identity is so important,’ said Susai.
Susai also shared with the students how branding set a company apart from its competitors, created consumer loyalty and provided information on how consumers think and feel about the product. He also emphasised the importance of partnerships in the area of reputation building and branding.
‘We all want our products to stand out from the crowd - this is where innovation comes in because you need to be creative with your message. The success of any business or marketing product or service depends of the quality of the service you provide. So let effective service delivery be the voice of your brand’, he said.
